Happy Monday Guys!
I hope you had a great weekend. I spent mine working on revisions to my defended dissertation (eek!), reading, job-hunting, and getting delicious free pizza (yes to coupons in the mail!).
For this week, I have meetings lined up with a few of my committee members to get some general life and career advice. I’ll also be continuing the job hunt, working on revisions to my dissertation, and perhaps getting a gel manicure.
I’ll tell you something that anyone who’s ever looked for a job already knows – it’s tiring. I know the type of job that I’d love and be great at, but I don’t necessarily know what the title of it is because it changes from one place to the next. Consequently, I don’t know what to search for. *Raises fist in air like a curmudgeon.*
It’s not enough to just search for “health communication jobs” because there are jobs out there that would be perfect for me that don’t necessarily have health communication in the title. At this stage it’s a lot of networking, trial and error with what I’m searching for, and patience (heaps and gobs of it).
As eager as I am to find the right position, I know that I eventually will. Good things take time so my focus now is in being diligent in prayer and in my searching efforts. God will take care of the rest.
