Productivity for the win. This weekend I filed my taxes, washed and deep conditioned my hair (4C girls you feel me on this one), vacuumed my apartment, did laundry, meal prepped, finished reading a great book (Children of Blood and Bones), worked on a paper I will be publishing (claiming it!), and rewarded myself on Sunday by breaking out my waffle maker and making myself brunch.
I ran my errands in this outfit. Comfortable, casual, yet still put together. The shirt was a gift, the leggings are from Forever 21, and the shoes are from DSW.
I had been sleeping on DSW but no more lol. I started shopping there again late last year and I’ve picked up some nice sneakers since then. They give away nice freebies from time to time if you spend X amount of money (usually between $35-$49). So far I’ve gotten a quilted gray weekender bag (it’s actually quite big), a blush bag with a slot for a yoga mat (also quite big and so cute), a fitness tracker, and a blanket (which I’m currently cozied under as I type this).
After everything I felt so satisfied when my head hit the pillow Sunday night. There’s nothing like a productive weekend to fuel you for the week ahead. But rest is important too. I know I’ve said this before but my ideal weekend is a delicate balance of work and play. Too much of either and I end up feeling either worn down or unprepared for the week ahead.
We had a cold front a couple days last week but the weather warmed up for the weekend. Spring is nipping at our heels. I like cold weather (at least bundling up in it) so while I’ll be sad to see it go, change is nice.
How was your weekend?
