2019 is in full swing folks. We’re halfway through February. This weekend I hit up a new coffee shop (Hey, East Pole Coffee) cozied up in a corner with some tea and snacks and spent some time doing a January month in review.
Happy New Year Everyone! I hope 2019 has been treating you well. My first post of the year is a simple, healthy, and delicious salad recipe. Truthfully, I came up with it when I had an assortment of random ingredients in my fridge that I didn’t want to spoil. Sometimes you create the best recipes this way. The list of ingredients is short and I realized as I was typing it up that it’s vegan. So if you were inspired by Beyonce and Jay-Z’s challenge to try a plant-based diet in 2019, this salad will get you off on the right foot. Keep reading to see what you’ll need.
This was the most exciting (and stressful) part of planning my trip. Where to eat in NOLA?! With so many amazing restaurants in NOLA where does one begin. What helped was having an idea of the kinds of food I wanted to try. Beignets were a must as was food you tend to think of when you think about NOLA (think gumbo or po’boys) but I also wanted to find something a little off the beaten path. Once I knew what kinds of food I wanted to eat, then it was just a matter of researching the best places to go to get my fix.
There’s so much to do, see, and eat in NOLA. But more on that last one next week! This week I’m sharing recommendations for things to do in New Orleans. And no worries, if you’re short on time. I managed to fit all these activities in a 48 hour trip without feeling too rushed.
New Orleans is relatively small in size but they packed a lot in the “Crescent City.” It’s brimming with beautiful architecture, great music, amazing food, and cute shops so it can be a little overwhelming to plan a trip there. Fear not, friends! I’ve got you covered. The research scientist in me did plenty of research before making my first trip to the Big Easy. In this guide I’ll be sharing some recommendations for lodging, what to do, where to eat, and what to wear in NOLA. First up, I’m talking about my stay at Sonder in New Orleans’ Central Business District.
